A turtledove

At the beginning of this spring, a couple of turtledove built a nest in a maple tree in the front garden of my parents' house. Two baby birds hatched and flied from the nest last Friday. They left the nest but it doesn't mean that they can become independent. The first-born baby bird seemed to live on its own but the other one couldn't leave the garden. It had stayed at the base of tree for two days. Its parent birds sometimes came to see it. They seemed to press it to fly but it couldn't move. The baby bird was little and fragile.
Unfortunately, it began raining in the evening last Saturday. The baby bird got wet but still wouldn’t move. The parent birds left it to take shelter from the heavy rain. Did you see a lightning and listen a clap of thunder? We worried about it. We thought that it might be die because of the cold. It was difficult to do nothing for us.
We decided to offer it a bed. The baby bird was so exhausted that it didn't make any attempt to escape when my mother picked it up in her hands. We put it in a small box and put the box inside the room. It got a sleep as soon as we covered the box. As you know, it had been raining heavily at Saturday night. We should not interfere in the balance of nature. But we thought that the rain was too cruel for a small baby bird.

To be continued.
